RRSC Tracks Program ~ 2009/2010

Rio Rancho Soccer Club’s mission is to meet the needs of most, if not all, kids in the Rio Rancho area. In doing so, RRSC will introduce a three –track system offering different levels of participation for our players. Each level is designed to meet the needs of each player, with the hopes that each player will continue to enjoy soccer to the fullest and use soccer as the launching pad for lifelong healthy active lifestyle.

For U5/U6, click here to learn about our Youth Academy.

Classic Track: (U7 and above)
Classic track has been the foundation of the club for the past 30 years and will continue to be so. The families pay a flat registration fee. The Classic Track Teams are coached by volunteer coaches, and the Classic Track Teams are comprised of players of varying commitment level and ability level. The classic track is a great program for kids that want to run around and have fun. They are not sure if soccer is what strikes their interest levels most, so they are able to come out and play in a more fun, laid back environment. Almost every great soccer player in the USA started off playing soccer in an environment akin to our classic track. Important Note: For U7/U8, we are working on offering supplemental staff coached training environment akin to the Youth Academy and Developmental Track for an incremental fee.

Developmental Track: (U9 and above)
The developmental track is the “in-between” track. This track is an excellent option for families and players that want a little more commitment and quality, but still have many other obligations to which to attend. More importantly the players are receiving professional staff coaching on a frequent basis. The volunteer coaches have a steady source of practice plans (provided by the staff coach) and an excellent opportunity to use the guidance and support of the staff coach. The kids in this track are usually multiple sports athletes or have other extracurricular commitments which may interfere with the some of the practices and games. The ability levels may vary at this track.

Club Track: (U11 and above)
The Club Track is designed to meet the needs of the most committed kids in our club, as well as meeting the needs of our highest ability level players. When deciding on this track, we would highly encourage parents to be realistic with where your child and family are at from a commitment level, first, and then, second, ability level. The Club Track requires 100% commitment to the team, and the player needs to be at a solid ability level. The team will be coached full-time by a RRSC staff coach which includes two practices a week and at least one game on the weekend. Important Note: By stating “100% commitment”, we are not suggesting nor asking that the players specialize in soccer. The fact is that specialization in one sport does not advance development. It can actually cause over-use injuries. We encourage all kids to have a diverse and well-rounded upbringing, but we tell parents and players to be ready to go the extra mile to make practices and games.

This document does not discuss U15+ and the potential creation of showcase teams

Important note: RRSC is subsidizing the deployment of these coaching services to ease the transition for parents. The training fees will be reviewed annually and are subject to increases. We encourage parents to compare the cost and value of RRSC to other clubs in the metro area. We are confident that RRSC offers the greatest value of price for quality.

The total does not include team fee to play Duke City (DCSL) metro schedule which works out to be approximately $60 per player. DCSL registered teams also pay this fee. As such, it is a wash for comparison purposes and is excluded herein. Additionally, this fee does not include uniform costs and other ancillary expenses such as tournaments.
